UNITED KINGDOM
Workshops

JTB UK & Ireland has joined Bright Travel Agency Training Group and will attend workshops Glasgow (15th September), Edinburgh (16th September), Brighton (6th October), and Portsmouth (7th October) to train independent travel agents on the Jordan product.
Tour operators

JTB UK & Ireland will target potential new tour operators to feature Jordan for 2010 brochures. The two markets with the strongest growth possibilities are Soft Adventure and Luxury travel. These operators will be targeted as Jordan offers good value for both markets.
FAM trip

JTB UK & Ireland is planning a joint FAM trip with BMI to target senior product managers / director and new online tour operators to visit Jordan in September.
October FAM trip

JTB UK & Ireland is planning a joint FAM trip with Six Senses and BMI to target the luxury tour operators to visit Jordan in October. JTB will use this trip to kick start the ultra luxury market in Jordan.
WTM

JTB UK & Ireland will begin preparing for WTM shortly, including coordinating agent training, media and trade appointments, developing the press pack and targeting WTM trade previews with relevant news and stories.
Winter Sun destination

JTB UK & Ireland is in the planning stages of putting together a group press trip to celebrate Jordan as an ideal Winter Sun destination. The trip will focus primarily on the Dead and Red seas and the itinerary will also include Petra and Wadi Rum.
Partnerships

JTB UK & Ireland has partnered with Harrods and A&K to promote Jordan in store. Promotional activity includes a direct mail out to the in-store A&K customers and a DPS advertorial in the Harrods magazine and a promotional space on the back of the A&K till receipts.
Group press trip

JTB UK & Ireland is liaising with Marriott and BMI to host a group press trip to Jordan from 4-7 September. Attendees include the top publications from the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland including the Irish Times, the Irish Independent and the Belfast Telegraph. The itinerary will take in Amman, Petra, Madaba, Mount Nebo, and the Dead Sea so will provide a good overview of the destination.
Filming in Jordan

JTB UK & Ireland is liaising with production company, Lion TV, regarding filming in Jordan for a BBC Christmas special with celebrity millionaires from the popular UK TV program Dragon’s Den.
Promoting medical tourism

JTB UK & Ireland is liaising with production company, Look Well TV, who is keen to film in Jordan and promote medical tourism to the country.
Sponsorship opportunities

JTB UK & Ireland is liaising with Big Earth productions regarding potential brand sponsorship opportunities for their newly launched adventure travel website, www.bigearth.co.uk
Autumn Campaign

JTB UK & Ireland is in the planning stages of an Autumn Campaign including a promotion with Global Radio and dedicated Jordan supplement.
