BRIGHT – JTB
London has joined Bright Travel Agency Training Group and will attend workshops across the UK. There are 13 events in total from January to October and the remaining events are listed below. The events target independent travel agents in the UK and there are approximately 40 – 50 agents at each event.

New Tour Operators
JTB London will target potential new tour operators to feature Jordan for 2010 brochures. The two markets with the strongest growth possibilities are Soft Adventure and Luxury travel. These operators will be targeted as Jordan offers good value for both markets. A potential target list has been developed and the operators are being sent Jordan information and powerpoint presentations prior to meetings. |

New Tour Operators – Fam trip to Jordan
JTB will be targeting the most relevant operators to visit Jordan at the end of June to visit sites for inclusion on 2009 web itineraries.
Online Tour Operators Fam trip– JTB is targeting the top online tour operators from the UK to visit Jordan on a VIP fam trip. There will be an opportunity for hotel partners to work with the JTB to provide a memorable trip to Jordan. While the operators are in Jordan JTB will highlight its online plans for the UK market.
Co-operative Marketing with UK tour operators. JTB London has undertaken partnerships with approximately 10 UK tour operators to promote Jordan with joint marketing initiatives. All UK tour operators were contacted prior to Christmas asking for proposals and the top 10 have initially been chosen to work with to promote Jordan. JTB is seeking another 5 tour operators to work with on co-operative marketing campaigns. |

Eco press trip planned for the 4th – 10th June 2009
Jordan is famed for the arid desert of Wadi Rum and Petra so this trip is designed to highlight the plentiful natural wonders that exist beyond these well known attractions. The trip will visit Dana, the Dead Sea and Ajloun amongst others and will serve to raise Jordan’s profile as an ‘eco-tourism’ destination. Targeted high end media and secured nine publications on the trip – Sunday Telegraph; Sunday Mercury; Fabulous Magazine; Spirit and Destiny Magazine; Coutts Woman Website; Grazia; Independent on Sunday; Voyager Magazine and the Press Association. |

Feature on the country
JTB UK has secured Susan d’Arcy from the Sunday Times, to visit Jordan from 13th – 17th May, to write a feature on the country as a up and coming destination. |

Group press trips
A Panorama of Christian history. Religious press trip co-ordinated and hosted from the 16th to 22nd April 2009. Coinciding with the Christian Orthodox Easter week, this trip targeted key religious correspondents and publications and will cover all key biblical sites in Jordan. This trip was planned prior to the Pope’s visit in May so pieces can come out to coincide with his trip. Secured ten top religious publications to attend – The War Cry and The Salvationist; The Tablet; Women Alive / Aspire Magazine; Baptist Times; The Catholic Herald; Keep the Faith magazine and Black UK Online website; Church of England Newspaper; BBC World; Church Times and The Independent |

JTB UK to promote the Jordan Festival, which will begin on the 7th July. Invite key high-end media to the festival and draft press release on the event. |
