Jordan and Argentina discuss agreement on tourism
Jordan and Argentina explored prospects of joint cooperation in tourism and said they expect an agreement could be signed before the end of the year – perhaps during King Abdullah's visit to Argentina in October.
Tourism Minister Maha AL-Khatib and visiting adviser to the Argentinean tourism ministry Hamurabi Noufouri discussed areas of potential cooperation and means of establishing and supporting business to business contacts and private sector collaboration.
Noufouri stressed the important role Jordan can play in creating a bridge for some 17 million Latin Americans of Arab descent, mostly from Syria, Lebanon, and Palestine. He said that he believes there is much to learn from the Jordan Tourism Board’s 10-year experience to help the Argentinean board which was established two years ago.
