JTBNA Participates at Virtuoso Travel Mart

JTBNA participated at Virtuoso Travel Mart in Las Vegas on August 19th-24th, 2007. Virtuoso is the world’s most exclusive network of travel agencies who serve the most affluent, well-traveled individuals worldwide. 

In 2007, Jordan became a preferred destination with Virtuoso and is currently working with them on advertising campaigns, email blasts and online trainings. Jordan Tourism Board N.A. attended the 2007 Travel Mart for the first time and was very surprised to meet great interest from virtuoso agents attending the event. 

The Jordan stand was crowded during the course of the show with 372 pre-arranged appointments with virtuoso agents. Approximately 90% of the agents were very open and interested in learning about the destination. All of them requested more promotional material.  Around 80% of the agents knew/heard about Petra and about it being one of the New Seven Wonders and expressed an increased interest in the market for this destination.

Approximately 20% of the agents have been to Jordan and are already selling it as destination. Most of their clients stop in Jordan as part of their cruise programs/1 day Petra, and those were very interested in learning about possibilities to extend their staying in Jordan.
