JTB to Launch a Large Scale Ad Campaign in Europe

JTB is preparing to launch a large scale outdoor and print advertising campaign in Germany, the UK, and France to promote Jordan as a tourism destination.

The JTB offices have been crowded with an array of local designers as they bid for the first time to design ads to attract tourists to visit Jordan. The JTB is looking into instigating a creative and fresh method of advertising Jordan as a tourism destination.

In Germany a large scale ad campaign will run on buses in Frankfurt, Hamburg, Cologne, Munich, and Stuttgart presenting unique images of Jordan’s various destinations with a main focus on Petra, Jerash, and Wadi Rum. The ads will focus on the niche products of Jordan as a Historic, Luxurious, and Adventure destination. The campaign will be supported by a print ad campaign appearing in Die Welt, Welt am Sonntag, Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, Frankfurter Sonntagszeitung, Süddeutsche Zeitung, Kombi, Hamburger Abendblatt, Augsburger Allgemeine, Sonntag Aktuell, and WAZ. The campaign will also be supported with a parallel themed Radio ad campaign and a wide spread window display promotion appearing in more than 300 travel agencies across Germany.

In the UK, JTB will run a large scale print ad campaign in national and regional newspapers and magazines promoting Jordan as Cultural, Eco and Adventure destination. The publications have been selected based on the niche markets JTB is focusing on promoting, in the UK a new target on food and travel magazines is being exploited to promote Jordan as a luxury and gourmet destination, and the JTB also decided to advertise in Church of England guide to promote Jordan as a religious destination. JTB UK is also organizing a large scale internet campaign with Jordan banners appearing on Google and travel websites.

In France, the JTB is finalizing its plans to run a large scale outdoor advertising campaign to promote Jordan. The campaign will be based in Paris where a large variety of Jordanian landscape and scenery will be displayed on billboard in prime locations. This campaign is expected to create more interest in Jordan and thus increase sales. The billboard will be supported with a parallel print campaign to magnify the effect on the market.

JTB strongly believes in creating the right combination of consumer advertising alongside its co-op activities with the trade and its press and fam trips. JTB believes in creating an interest which will generate demand for the destination and we feel our efforts in our markets heading in that direction and hope to reap its fruits in the near future.
