JTB at Visit Britain
In its bid to continuously improve its marketing capabilities and competitive edge, in addition to increasing value to its members, the Jordan Tourism Board is continuing its path of gaining experience from the world’s top tourism marketing organizations. Both Directors of the Marketing and Research Departments at the JTB spent several days in the offices of Visit Britain, the marketing arm of the tourism industry in Britain.
The visit allowed both directors to gain a wide array of information and expertise on the British experience in marketing tourism internationally. The British officials were very supportive and shared with the JTB officials their wide array of services and expertise. Officials on both sides agreed that the established relationship will continue beyond the training days as Visit Britain has offered continued assistance and support to the JTB.
The JTB’s commitment in striving for excellence and best practices in international tourism marketing is one of the pillars of its marketing strategy. In 2006, four JTB staff members spent a week training and technical exchange within the confines of the Dubai Tourism Board. In 2005 a staff member spent time training with the Tunis Board of Tourism. Best practices from abroad are continuously absorbed within JTB practices.
