IHG renovates 5 hotels in Jordan
The Intercontinental Hotel Group (IHG) announced the completion and progress in ongoing renovations of five hotels which operate under its umbrella in Jordan’s main tourist destinations in Amman, the Dead Sea, Petra and Aqaba.
Two hotels in the Dead Sea, the Holiday Inn Resort and the Crowne Plaza Resort, are currently being constructed and are expected to become operational in summer 2009 and 2010 respectively.
The Crowne Plaza Resort Dead Sea is a 420- room hotel built on a 70,000 square meter site, and includes a spa that is built on 5275 square meters with a jacuzzi and three indoor heated pools.
Both will bring a new addition to the Dead Sea resort area, one of the kingdoms most rapidly expanding tourism area.
Director of Operations for IHG Jordan and Palestine Mr. Carsten Reiher said “we are continually expanding presence in Jordan’s’ hotel industry as part of a long term commitment to promote the Kingdom’s tourism industry.” He described the Jordanian hotel sector as an important part of IHG worldwide operations. |
