Jordan Bids to Host the 8th International Scientific Meeting

In its bid to enhance the position of Jordan as a leading Middle Eastern player in health care management and delivery, the Jordanian representative Committee of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists is bidding to host the International Scientific Meeting of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (RCOG) in 2011.

This meeting which is attended by around 3,000 Obstetricians and Gynecologists from all over the world is the main forum for discussing new advances in the specialty. It is held every 3 years in a location that is worthy of the occasion and has all the facilities to support such a grand conference. Previous venues were the likes of Hong Kong, Singapore, Australia, Canada, India, Malaysia, and Egypt. The bid is receiving strong support internationally, and the voting will take place later this year.

The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities and the Jordan Tourism Board have put great efforts in supporting and preparing the bid. If Jordan wins the bid, the conference will be held in the Dead Sea area which is renowned for its conference and hotel facilities. Accommodations to host such a large number of participants will be shared by hotels in both the Dead Sea and Amman.
