PETRA NEWS UPDATE
The Association of Retired Servicemen donate 50,000 votes in support of Petra

As part of a nationwide campaign aimed at placing the ancient city of Petra on the international tourism map and to rally support for the city to become one of the modern wonders of the world, the Association of Retired Servicemen have donated 50,000 votes for the campaign using the Fastlink network.  Fastlink, which earlier announced its support to the campaign, has donated its share of the proceeds by using the money to generate more votes for the red rose city.

The voting took place during a massive campaign with the participation of retired servicemen from the various governorates and regions of the Kingdom.  The Association's President, retired Brigadier Ahmad Imian said all 120,000 members were invited to take part in the voting, which came to reflect the servicemen's sense of obligation towards their national duties and to fulfill His Majesty the King's call on the public to take part in the development of various sectors..

The Jordan Tourism Board and the National Committee for Petra Voting expressed appreciation of the move by the Association, which would add significant support to the campaign aimed at including Petra in the seven wonders.
