These have good international restaurants as well as conference, meetings and business facilities, swimming pools and health & fitness centres. Inside the town are several restaurants, which serve traditional cuisine.

A modest shrine commemorating the death of Aaron, brother of Moses, was built in the 13th century by the Mameluk Sultan, high atop Mount Aaron (Jabal Haroun) in the Sharah range.

The “Petra by Night” tour which begins at the Petra Visitor's Centre at around 8:30 p.m.(1630 GMT) on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. The tour takes visitors through the Siq to the Khazneh along a candle-lit path leading to the centre of the historic city. Enjoy the haunting music of the Bedouin at the Treasury.

In 1985, Petra was officially listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

More information on Petra and its other attractions can be obtained from the Visitors' Centre at the entrance to the site, while Petra Archaeological Museum, inside the site, houses a wide variety of finds from Petra.
