Issue No. 7 - April 2007 |
 |
March was one of the busiest months for the tourism sector and the JTB. During this month, the Jordan Tourism Board organized the participation of the sector in four major tourism exhibitions at ITB / Berlin, MITT / Moscow, TUR / Gothenburg, and UITT / Kiev. The initial feedback that was received from these exhibitions was very promising as Jordanian tour operators indicated a very positive turn in the market and much interest in our destination and the new products being offered. Initial results of the Petra survey that is conducted by the JTB on location are also supporting such claims. March also witnessed the hosting of several press trips from the United States, Germany and Austria as well as a number of familiarization trips for potential tour operators from several major source markets..
I would like to take this opportunity to once again shed light on the importance of JTB's monthly newsletter. As you may have already realized, the newsletter is an important new marketing tool administered by the JTB. It not only carries activities undertaken by the JTB, but also highlights important news and developments of the tourism sector in Jordan and other industries that have an impact on it. More importantly, each newsletter explains what marketing activities are coming up in each market for the coming two months.
This is meant to allow the industry, in Jordan and abroad, to build on the investments the JTB is making in those markets so as to build and unify marketing synergies to the largest possible degree. The newsletter is shared with not only JTB members, but also with a wide array of interested parties worldwide through our offices and JTB's ever growing databases. Even though the marketing activities are summarized, readers are strongly invited to contact the indicated marketing coordinator at JTB for more elaboration.
Wishing you all a wonderful spring season,

Mazen Homoud
Managing Director.
