As the new Managing Director of the Jordan Tourism Board, I
would like to thank you for your continuous support
throughout the years in making this organization successful
and thriving, and I am confident that our cooperation with
you will be a vital instrument in elevating the Jordan
Tourism Board to build on its past success and boost the
tourism industry in Jordan.
Our role at JTB has grown over the years to cover different
parts of the world with our promotional efforts, and we are
now shifting towards more creative and efficient ways of
advertising due to our limited resources. We are also
evaluating our current operations in source markets and
looking at possible new markets to ensure the maximum return
on investment for our private sector partners.
Your role as our members has been the milestone of our
achievements, this is why I look forward to working with you
closely and continuously to implement your idea’s and cater
to your needs. I welcome your input and invite you to visit

Majali said that Royal Jordanian, a oneworld airline
member, has accomplished a substantial leap in
electronic ticketing penetration, reaching 80% on
all the route network on direct and interline
traffic.
JTB is preparing to
launch a large scale outdoor and print advertising
campaign in Germany, the UK, and France to promote
Jordan as a tourism destination.
The JTB hosted Studienkreis fur Tourismus und
Entwicklung e.V. to give a high quality training for
Jordanian Tour Guides. The partnership between JTB and
STE dates back to two years ago when these training
started taking place as part of JTB’s commitment and
interest in maintaining and enriching the quality of
services that the tourism industry offers.
In its efforts to promote Jordan as a tourism
destination, the Jordan Tourism Board is participating
in GITEX, the region's largest technology exhibition
taking place in 8-12 September 2007 in Dubai through
displaying its promotional material at the Jordanian
stand (INJAZ).
As
the bidding day approaches to select the hosting country
to the 15th International Congress of the World
Federation of Neurological Societies, JTB sponsors with
a final pitch the Congress of Neurological Surgeons by
hosting a Jordan Evening in San Diego.
As the summer
season is coming close to an end, the JTB is wrapping up
its extensive summer campaign which entailed an array of
activities spread around the Kingdom.
JTBNA
participated at Virtuoso Travel Mart in Las Vegas on
August 19th-24th, 2007. Virtuoso is the world’s most
exclusive network of travel agencies who serve the most
affluent, well-traveled individuals worldwide.
After extended study, the Jordan
Tourism Board saw it best to terminate its
representation office services in Scandinavia and carry
out all promotional work from Head Office.
The JTB
is happy to announce that its website is now available
in Italian and Spanish. Our website is now featured in
six languages English, Arabic, French, German, Italian
and Spanish.
The Jordan Tourism Board will be
hosting the biggest tour operator from the Scandinavian
region to discuss the possibility of starting a charter
operation to Aqaba in the winter of 2008.
Petra was named one of the New 7
Wonders of the World! Chosen by around 100 million
voters around the globe, the New 7 Wonders were selected
and announced on 07-07-2007 during a large scale
ceremony in Lisbon.
The JTB recently launched a
selection of new posters focusing on Petra as a tribute
to its reclamation as one of the New 7 Wonders. You can

In light of Petra’s well deserved
success by being crowned as one of the New 7 Wonders of
the World, the Jordan Tourism Board plans to incorporate
a new focus in its marketing plans for next year.
The Aqaba
Development Corporation (ADC), the investment arm of the
Aqaba Special Economic Zone, signed a memorandum of
understanding with the Eastern Investment Group Holding
(EIGH) to establish a university in Aqaba.
Le Meridien Amman's
ongoing "Back to the Floor" (BTTF) program continues to
build on the strong links shared between senior
management and employees at the hotel, by placing the
hotel's senior executives in entry level positions for
one whole day.
