HOW TO GET THERE

By car or taxi from Amman (Salt):
Travel for about 20 minutes (20KM) to the northwest of Amman, following the signs.

By car or taxi from Amman (Fuheis):
Take the King Abdullah II Street and follow the signs.

By Service Taxi:
Take a taxi from Al-Abdali station. The taxi trips are not scheduled, the service taxis start their trips as soon as they have a full passenger load.

As a result of its history as an Ottoman centre of government, Salt features many fine examples of classic Ottoman architecture.

The ancient town of Salt was once the capital of Jordan.

Salt houses a Handicrafts School, where you can admire traditional skills of ceramics, weaving, silk-screen printing and dyeing.

The dried white grapes commonly known as sultanas, took their name from Salt, where they have been grown for centuries. Raisins and grapes were amongst the produce exported from Salt to Palestine during Ottoman times.
