Austria

Dec.  JTB Austria will continue with the ad campaign in T.I.P. (a trade travel magazine) for travel agents as part of the Destination Training for Jordan. 

Dec.  A promotion of Mejdoul dates in 1,600 Spar supermarket shops all over Austria is taking place. Spar will give-away a JTB-sponsored trip for 2 from a lucky drawing that will take place at the end of the promotion for all those who have purchased the dates.

Dec.   JTB Austria will hold a press conference for trade magazines and daily newspapers to re-cap the events of 2006 and give a preview of the upcoming program for 2007.

10th- 20th Dec.   JTB Austria will go on special sales calls to give small typical  Jordanian Christmas gifts to several tour operators and travel agents.

11th– 14th Jan.   JTB Austria will participate with its own 20sqm stand in a consumer travel fair in Vienna which targets general  holiday travelers and showcases themed holidays including culture and heritage, spa and wellness, etc.

Benelux Region

Dec.   A Jordan article and special readers offer will be published in Elegance, a glossy magazine. Readers can SMS and vote for their favorite holiday destination and enter to win a trip to Jordan.

Dec. JTB Benelux will send a newsletter to the trade and MICE market. 

14th – 15th Dec.   JTB Benelux will conduct sales calls with tour operators at Brussels Travel Expo (BTE), a leading travel trade fair in Belgium with over 300 exhibitors consisting of 52% Belgian sales points.

 Dec & Jan.   E-training with Travelution magazine aimed at travel agents and product managers to increase their knowledge of Jordan as a tourist destination. After the training the participants take an exam and receive an official certificate. The incentive is that the trainees with the highest score can win a FAM trip to Jordan.

Dec & Jan.    Special Jordan ad together with FOX Reizen, (a large online direct seller) in ANWB Reizen magazine, which is distributed to over 3 million people.

Dec & Jan.   JTB Benelux will hold a co-advertising campaign in daily newspapers.

10th Jan.    JTB Benelux will participate in an exclusive Media workshop during  the Utrecht in which many key players in the media will attend to enable JTB to inform them on the products Jordan has to offer.

9th – 14th Jan.   JTB Benelux will be participating with a 16sqm stand at Vakantiebeurs, dubbed the Utrecht Holiday fair, the largest consumer fair in the Benelux.  This year there will be various  themed routes for visitors to follow to view various unique  destinations. One of them is the "Wonders of the World" themed  route in which Petra will be promoted as one of the new cultural wonders of the world. The Dead Sea will be promoted as a natural wonder in the "Wellness route."

France

2nd -10th Dec.   JTB France will partner at the exhibition fair “Salon du Cheval” in   Paris with French tour operators and will distribute direct offers to the consumer. The Salon du Cheval de Paris is the leading French equestrian event and the 2nd in Europe.

13th- 20th Dec.   JTB will host 3 journalists from Ushuaia Magazine (circ.25,0000), which is a travel & discovery magazine to write articles on Petra and the Dana Reserve.

12th -15th Jan  JTB France will attend Salon De La Plongee, Paris International Dive Show; the annual and major gathering event for diving.

24-25th Jan  JTB France will participate in Salon Bedouk with a stand of 24sqm.This will give the opportunity for our DMCs to participate in this event. They will have two days to allow meeting, congress and event planners to discover new ideas for their future events in France and internationally. It is the meeting place for all the professionals who are planning: Conferences, Congresses, Incentives, Meetings & Conventions, Special Events, Product Launches, Staff Motivation, Training Programs, and Public events.5 participants from Jordan are expected to take part.

Germany

Nov. – Jan.   Jordan will be featured in a promotion in the Hertz bilingual magazine which will be distributed worldwide. Hertz magazine is the rental car company’s official magazine. The Hertz Corporation, with the largest market share worldwide, has its own membership magazine in the form of a luxury travel and leisure publication called OpenRoad. This is a high profile, quarterly, well respected magazine, 112 pages, high gloss, with a three month active distribution nationwide in Germany, with a readership of approximately 150.000 - 250.000 frequent, luxury leisure and  business travelers and Hertz members per quarter, including the exclusive Gold and Business Club members.

Nov. – Jan.   A Special promotion with Edeka supermarket chain will continue to promote new Jordanian dates currently being sold.  A Jordan flyer is distributed with the dates.

29th Nov. – 6th Dec.   JTB will host a travel agent familiarization trip for 15 agents who have become a “Jordan Expert” through online training, workshops and quizzes, to introduce them to the many attractions of Jordan as well as train them on how to sell it.  One trade journalist from Touristik Aktuell will participate in this trip in which a 2-page Jordan feature in the magazine is confirmed.

Dec.    A special trip to Jordan will be promoted in Edeka consumer magazine, by Edeka travel agent chain Neukauf Reisen in cooperation with JTB.

Dec.    JTB Germany will pursue trade education with Arche Noah Reisen. This is a TO for religious study tours in Trier. They also run travel agencies in the same area so the training will be for the staff members of the TO and their TAs.

 1st– 3rd Dec.  JTB Germany is participating with its own stand at the Travel Consumer Fair in Cologne.

10th Dec.  Jordan will be featured with Radio Gong, a leading radio station in Munich.  It will be a two hour feature including editorials, games and a prize winner trip to Jordan.  This is being done in cooperation with Royal Jordanian and Helios Reisen.

Jan.   A consumer ad campaign featuring the many attractions of Jordan will be spread out in various consumer and religious press including: Die Welt, Welt am Sonntag, Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, Frankfurter Sonntagszeitung, Die Zeit, and Süddeutsche Zeitung.

Italy

Dec.   A consumer advertising destination campaign for Jordan will continue in the print media including publications such as Qui Touring with a circulation of 449,362; and an online campaign with TO offers on www.expedia.com & www.lastminute.com.

 Dec.    JTB Italy will be hosting a TV crew from Italy called Marcopolo TV Channel (Sky satellite platform), they will be producing 4 features about Jordan that will be included in a program called: Terra Promessa (96 series of half hour each. The presenter will travel and describe all the   countries on the Read Sea from a tourist point of view).

            The 4 series about Jordan will be divided following the itinerary that the crew will do:

            1) Amman and locations nearby (Jerash /castles..)
            2) Dead Sea + Mt. Nebo, Bethany, etc
            3) Petra
            4) Wadi Rum + Aqaba

4th – 7th Dec.     JTBNA will attend the Luxury Show in Las Vegas in  partnership with Jordanian trade.

9th – 11th Dec.
  JTBNA will attend USTOA 2006, Phoenix, Arizona, the annual conference and marketplace for the United States Tour Operators Association.

30th Jan. – Feb. 2nd   JTBNA will be attending a Religious Conference Management Association (RCMA) Convention. The target market will be Religious Travel & Meeting Planners. There would be an opportunity for the TO, Airlines, Convention Center & Hotels to participate in this convention

Russia

1st Nov. - 27th Dec.   JTB in partnership with Citibank and EastLine will organize the PETRA EXHIBITION which is a photo exhibition held for the public on Petra and other major attractions in Jordan comprised of a collection of the best images from three famous Russian photographers.

4th & 18th Dec.   JTB Moscow will organize a joint advertising campaign with TOs in Moscow and St. Petersburg in Tourism and Otdykh  (Tourism and Relaxation) with a circulation of (120,000 copies). 

11th– 22nd Dec.  JTB Russia will run plasma screen advertising on Jordan

11th– 23rd Dec.  JTB Russia will launch a Radio campaign on Russian Radio to  promote additional flights to Jordan

12th –19th Dec.  JTB Russia will host a press trip to Jordan: (general reading  and lifestyles from Moscow, Siberia and Urals) with the following  publications: Gazeta (circulation 72,600); Moskovskaya Pravda; Kommersant (circulation 11,000); Madame Figaro (circulation 100,000); Burgzuazny (circulation 30,000); Dorogoe Udovolstvie  (circulation 35,000); Vim Avia (circulation 50,000);Tourbusiness (circulation 9,000); and Business journal (circulation 20,000)

Dec.     JTB Moscow will take part in the All Russia Conference on religious tourism upon the invitation of the Central Service of Pilgrimage Tourism of the Russian Patriarch. Representatives of the Pilgrimage Tourism Center will take part in a December training seminar for travel trade

Dec.   Domodedovo in-flight magazine will publish a news article on Jordan in its December issue. The magazine is distributed on board of all local and international flights departing from Domodedovo airport, and has a circulation of 80 000 copies.

16h -23 Jan.  
A TV crew from the 1st ORT Channel, a major national TV  channel, will come to Jordan to produce a documentary on  major sites and attractions. The documentary is planned to go  on air in March 2007.

19th Jan.   A radio program will go on air on Bethany Day promoting Russian Orthodox pilgrimage.

An information evening will be held for around 15-25 journalists who are members of the Finnish Travel Journalists Guild.

Mid Dec.   Individual press trip for editor in chief and writer for Res, biggest travel  magazine for public in Sweden, circulation 45 000

12th-15th Jan  JTB Scandinavia will participate in Reiseliv Travel Exhibition, Oslo, Norway.

19th-22nd Jan   JTB Scandinavia will participate in MATKA Travel Exhibition,Helsinki, Finland. This exhibition is expected to attract 17 000  trade professionals, and 62 000 consumers.

27th-29th Jan   JTB Scandinavia will participate in FERIE 07 Travel Exhibition, Copenhagen, Denmark.

JTB Spain is planning a direct mail campaign to all Spanish tour operators with a personal letter to be sure Jordan is included in their brochures of 2007.

United Kingdom

Dec.    A comprehensive ad campaign will continue covering  key national newspapers amongst them The Guardian, The Times, Daily Telegraph and Independent, as well as specialist travel magazines including ABTA Magazine, Selling Long Haul, and Travel Weekly, along with internet  travel sites and third party sites. The online campaign includes Google ad words and banner ads on the Times, Telegraph and Guardian travel websites.

28th Nov. - 5th Dec.   10 Journalists will be visiting Jordan and will be staying in Aqaba, Petra and the Dead Sea and will visit all the main attractions in the country. Currently interest is high and we have already secured 4 publications (specialist holiday magazines and high circulation regional newspapers). The journalists will fly in and out of Aqaba.

Jan.  JTB UK will carry out a sales activity to target online agencies, cruise operators and specialist niche operators to expand the distribution network         and increase yield and bed nights.
